Turning Curses into Blessings

Nehemiah 13:1-2 – (1) On that day, they read aloud from the Book of Moses in the hearing of the people; and there was found written in it that no Ammonite or Moabite should ever enter the assembly of God, (2) because they did not meet the sons of Israel with bread and water, but hired Balaam against them to curse them. However, our God turned the curse into a blessing.

Unexpected – How God takes the Unexpected Negatives and turns them into Undeniable Positives.

God takes the surprises of life and turns them into something beautiful.

Galatians 3:13-14 (ESV) – (13) Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us – for it is written, “Cursed in everyone who is hanged on a tree” (14) so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.

1.  Turn Your Problems Into Praise

Psalm 30:11-12 – (11) You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, (12) that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!

Philippians 1:3-5 (NLT) – (3) Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. (4) Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, (5) for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the first time you heard it until now.

Philippians 4:6 – Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray; tell God what you want, and THANK HIM for what He’s already done.

2.  Turn HOPELESSness into HOPEFULness

     *Turn Less-Hope into FULL-HOPE

Romans 15:13 – I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

3.  Expect God to Turn Your Worst Curse into Your Best Blessing

Nehemiah 13:12 – However, our God turned the curse into a blessing.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 – (16) That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. (17) For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! (18) So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

Philippians 1:19 – Because I know that through your prayers and the provision of the Spirit of Jesus, my distress will turn out for my deliverance.
