Didn’t See It Coming
I didn’t see it coming.
Mark 10:46 – Then they reached Jericho, and as Jesus and his disciples left town, a large crowd followed him. A blind beggar named Bartimaeus (son of Timaeus) was sitting beside the road.
Mark 10:47 – When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus of Nazareth was nearby, he began to cry (out), “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
God listens when you begin to cry out to Him.
Mark 10:48 – “Be quiet!” many of the people yelled at him. But he only cried louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!"
The cry of his desperation was stronger than the cry of his opposition.
Mark 10:49 – When Jesus heard him, he stopped and said, “Tell him to come here.”
Your cry can make the SON stand still.
Isaiah 43:2 – When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.
Mark 10:50 – Bartimaeus threw aside his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus.
Ephesians 4:22-24 – (22) “strip off or throw away that old man…
(24) …and put on or dress up in that new man in Christ.”
Mark 10:51 – “What do you want… me to do for you?” Jesus asked.
(51) …the blind man said, “I want to see!”
Mark 10:52 – And Jesus said to him, “Go, for your faith has healed you.” Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus down the road.
