Outlasting the Storm

Outlasting The Storm

2 Corinthians 2:11 – …so that we won’t be taken advantage of by Satan, because we are well aware of his schemes.

Warning Signs that You Are Under Spiritual Attack

1.  When you feel like quitting one day, and running a marathon the next

2.  When you no longer desire the Presence of God

3.  When you are feeling overwhelmed

4.  When you no longer have a desire to pray and worship

5.  When you have a Loss of Spiritual Appetite

6.  When You lose your Affection for the House of God

Psalm 42:4 – My heart is breaking as I remember how it used to be: I walked among the crowds of worshipers, leading a great procession to the house of God, singing for joy and giving thanks amid the sound of a great celebration.

7.  When You feel Physical and Emotional Exhaustion

Daniel 7:25 – And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High…

Galatians 6:9 – And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

You are most vulnerable when you have just had a great victory, or right before you’re about to receive a promotion.

1 Kings 19:5 – Then as he [Elijah] lay and slept under a broom tree, suddenly an angel touched him, and said to him, “Arise and eat.”

8.  When Old Sins and Iniquities Return

Matthew 12:45 – Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.

The enemy loves to attack from the last place where he was successful.

Discouragement is the soil where sin grows.

9.  When You Want to Pull Away from Good Godly Relationships

When you begin to find enjoyment through carnal methods, it is a sign you are under spiritual attack.

Forget the past.

Jesus is the Best thing to have ever happened to you.

2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

3 Things to Remember in Your Storm

1.  Remember that God has Made You to Outlast the Storm

Psalm 42:6 – Now I am deeply discouraged, but I will remember you…

Matthew 7:24-25 – (24) Anyone who listens to My teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. (25) Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise, and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.

2.  Praise Him Through the Storm

Psalm 42:5 – Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again – my Savior and my God!

When the enemy comes in like a flood, you were built to outlast the storm if your life has been founded on the Rock Christ Jesus.

God built you with the storm in mind.

3.  Don’t Forsake Right Relationships in a Storm

Matthew 18:19 – Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven.

Deuteronomy 32:30 – How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight…

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 – (9) Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. (10) If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.
