Something You Can't Live Without

Something You Can't Live Without

Exodus 33:12, 14 (NIV) – (12) Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me.…” (14) The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Exodus 33:15 (NIV) – Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.”

Exodus 33:12-13 (NIV) – (12) “…You have said, ‘I know you by name and you have found favor with me.’ (13) If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”

God’s Presence was an imperative for Moses.

There is a GRAVE and HUGE danger in losing the Presence of God.

1 Samuel 4:22 – A woman cried, “The glory is departed from Israel: for the ark of God [presence] is taken.”

1 Samuel 4:10, 11, 18 – (10) The Philistines fought, and Israel was smitten: and there was a very great slaughter; for there fell of Israel thirty thousand footmen. (11) And the ark of God was taken; (18) And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that Eli fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck brake, and he died…

Before, as long as they had God’s Presence and the Ark, no enemy could take the Israelites over.

Danger in Doing a Right Thing the Wrong Way

2 Samuel 6:11-12 – (11) The Ark of the Lord remained there in Obed-edom’s house for three months, and the Lord blessed Obed-edom and his entire household. (12) Then King David was told, “The Lord has blessed Obed-edom’s household and everything he has because of the Ark of God.” So David went there and brought the Ark of God from the house of Obed-edom to the City of David with a great celebration.

For David, nothing was more important than the Presence of God.

Psalm 16:11 (Japanese interpretation) Whenever people worship, God brings His big chair and sits down.

Where His Presence is Welcomed, His Favor is Found.

1 Chronicles 16:37 (NLT) – David arranged for Asaph and his fellow Levites to serve regularly before the Ark of the Presence, doing whatever needed to be done each day.

Praise Brings His Presence Which Brings Your Breakthrough

Jehoshaphat sent the singers out first to go ahead of the army, singing to God and praising Him.

2 Chronicles 20:21 – Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever.
