Wake Up

Wake UP

Matthew 13:24-26 – (24) Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field: (25) But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. (26) But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

Ephesians 5:14 (KJV) – Wherefore he saith, “Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

Romans 13:11-14 – (11) This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. (12) The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. (13) Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy. (14) Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 – (1) Now concerning how and when all this will happen, dear brothers and sisters, we don’t really need to write you. (2) For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. (3) For when they shall say, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. (4) But you aren’t in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won’t be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief. (5) For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night. (6) So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober and clearheaded.

3 Areas in Our Lives We Need to Wake Up

Romans 14:17 – For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

1.  Wake Up Your Faith

Hebrews 10:34-37 – (34) You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. (35) So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. (36) You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. (37) For, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.”

2.  Wake Up Your Peace

Isaiah 53:5 – But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.

John 14:27 – I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

3.  Wake Up Your Joy

Nehemiah 8:5-10 – (5) Ezra opened the book. All the people could see him because he was standing above them; and as he opened it, the people all stood up. (6) Ezra praised the LORD, the great God; and all the people lifted their hands and responded, “Amen! Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground.… (8) They read from the Book of the Law of God, making it clear and giving the meaning so that the people understood what was being read. (9) Then Nehemiah the governor, Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who were interpreting for the people said to them, “This day is holy to the LORD your God. Do not mourn or weep.” For all the people had been weeping as they listened to the words of the Law. (10) Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

His anger lasts a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime!

Psalm 30:5 – For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.

Psalm 16:11 – You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Your Joy will be awakened in HIS PRESENCE.
